The U.S. Embassy in Malabo is selling surplus movable property (SMP) through a web-based electronic auction platform at https://online-auction.state.gov/en-US.
The auction will be active from August 8 at 12:00 p.m. to August 17 at 12:00 p.m., 2025.
You may browse items in advance, but bidding can only occur during the official auction period.
Bids are submitted in U.S. dollars (USD) and are binding.
Each item may have a maximum number of bids allowed—this limit will be shown on the item's page.
You may increase your bid at any time before the auction closes.
Monitor your bids to stay competitive; the auction platform will not automatically increase your bid.
After the auction closes, winning bidders will receive a confirmation email with a link to the auction website, where you can log in to review the items you’ve won.
All sales are final. Items are sold as is, where is, without warranty or guarantee.
Winners must make payment in cash at the U.S. Embassy in Malabo. Payment must be made on August 18, 19, or 20, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Only the winning bidder or their authorized representative may make payment. Vehicles will not be released at the time of payment.
After payment, the winner must take the proof of payment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pay a 15% tax on the purchase price.
Bring the tax receipt to the U.S. Embassy to claim your item.
Pickups may be made between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., after all payment and tax documentation is completed.
September 5 is the final day to pick up purchased items.
The Embassy will not hold or be responsible for any unclaimed items after 4:00 p.m. on September 5.
