NOTICE: U.S. Embassy Surplus Movable Property Online Auction

The U.S. Embassies are conducting sales of surplus movable property through a web-based electronic auction platform. Each auction will be active for a specified period, with the start and end dates clearly displayed on the information panel of the web application. Typically, auctions run over a two-week period.

During the auction, participants may submit bids for surplus property. The maximum number of bids allowed per item is indicated on each item’s listing. Bids can only be increased in the local currency. Participants are encouraged to monitor their bids closely to respond to price developments effectively.

Winning bidders will receive an email containing a link to the auction application. After successfully logging in, winners can review their purchased items.

On the website: Pay.gov

  1. Click on Continue (STEP 1)
  2. Click Continue to the Form (STEP 2)
  3. Fill out the required Payer Information (STEP 3)
  4. In Bill of Collection Number under Payment information, please enter the Auction Identification number(s).
  5. Enter Payment Info.
    1. Payment is 1 CHF to 1 Dollar. If your winning bid is 100CHF, you pay 100 Dollars.
    2. The payment for the vehicles will be made in the local currency via bank transfer. Further instructions will follow to the winner.
  6. Review & submit.
  7. Confirm.
  8. Forward confirmation email to: GenevaUSUNPostCashiers@state.gov

In the item "Amount" fill in the total amount in the local currency of your bid(s)

In the case you have bid and won more than one item you can pay the total amount due of all items in one payment, but all lot items must be identified in the field "Payment Description" in lot numbers you're paying for.

It's important to note that once the payment is settled it will appear in our system after 2-3 working days.

How to pick-up your items

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Item Retrieval and Ownership Responsibilities

To retrieve your purchased items, you must present either the original receipt of the bank money transfer, including all required details as outlined in the payment instructions, or a printed version of the internet banking money transfer confirmation.

Please note that any paid items not picked up during the scheduled time frame will be considered abandoned and disposed of, with no possibility of retrieval. In exceptional cases, you may contact the auction manager to arrange an alternative pick-up date and time.

Once payment is successfully confirmed, our staff will move your items to the front of the storage building. At that point, ownership of the merchandise transfers to you, and you assume full responsibility for handling and removing the items from Embassy property in a timely manner. Failure to remove items promptly may result in them being deemed abandoned and disposed of.
