HOW IT WORKS
1. Review the Auction Information
The U.S. Embassy Jakarta sells Appliances, Furnitures, IT Items and surplus movable property (SMP), including vehicles, through a web-based electronic auction. Each auction will clearly indicate the opening and closing date and time on the auction website. Please carefully review the items description, photos, condition, location, and any applicable terms before placing a bid.
2. Items and Vehicle Auction Inspection – Highly Recommended
Potential bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle in person before placing a bid. Inspection is available during the advertised inspection period or before the bidding process begins, subject to appointment and access requirements.

Please arrange your inspection in advance. The bidder have the opportunity to inspect the items or review the available information and accepts the item's condition as offered.
3. Auction Closing and Winner Notification
Once the auction closed, the highest eligible bidder will be identified as the winning bidder. The Disposal Team will send an official winner notification email with the items information and payment instructions.
4. Non-Payment / Suspension
Winning an auction creates a commitment to complete the purchase. If a winning bidder fails to complete the required payment without an approved arrangement, the award may be cancelled and offered to the next eligible bidder.
The bidder's account may also be suspended or banned from participating in future U.S. Embassy Jakarta auctions due to failure to complete a winning bid.
5. Important Reminder
All items are sold as-is, where-is, unless otherwise specifically stated in the auction description. The U.S. Embassy does not guarantee the item's condition beyond the information provided in the auction listing. Bidders are responsible for conducting their own inspection and assessment before placing a bid.

PAYMENT TERMS
1. Auction Winner Notification
After the auction closes, the Disposal Team will send an official email notification to the winning bidder confirming that they have won the items (lots). The email will include the items information, payment instructions, and the designated bank account for payment.
2. Payment Process
The winning bidder must make the payment by bank transfer to the account provided in the official notification email.
3. Payment Deadline
The winning bidder must respond to the winner notification email within two (2) hours of receiving the notification.
4. Failure to Respond or Pay
If the winning bidder does not respond within the required two-hour period, or does not confirm their intention to proceed with the payment, they will be considered to have failed to complete the transaction. Failure to complete the payment by the approved deadline may result in cancellation of the award.
5. Payment Confirmation
After making the payment, the winning bidder should provide the payment receipt/proof of transfer by replying to the Disposal Team's notification email. The payment will be verified before the vehicle release process can proceed.

6. Duty Free and Duty Paid Vehicles
A. DUTY FREE
DUTY FREE vehicles are vehicles that the Government of Indonesia has not received the taxes owed. They are categorized into two groups: locally purchased and imported duty-free vehicles:
B. DUTY PAID
DUTY PAID vehicles are vehicles for which tax payments have already been made to the Government of Indonesia. No additional tax payments will be required for these vehicle purchases from the buyer.

1. Payment Must Be Completed First
The items or lots can only be released after the winning bidder has completed the payment and the payment has been received and verified by the U.S. Embassy.
2. Vehicle Pick-Up Options (For Vehicle)
After payment verification, the winning bidder may choose one of the following options:
The winning bidder may take possession of the vehicle after payment verification. In this case, the vehicle may be released before the vehicle registration documents are available. The required vehicle documents will be processed separately and released later in accordance with the applicable procedures. The estimated processing time is approximately 4–6 months from the vehicle handover date, subject to the applicable process.
The winning bidder may choose to wait until the required vehicle documents have been processed and are available. The vehicle can then be collected together with the applicable documents.
3. Items Release Conditions
Before collecting the items, the winning bidder should ensure that all required arrangements have been completed.
The items will be released as-is, where-is, based on its condition at the time of sale. The buyer is responsible for arranging and covering any required transportation, towing, loading, or other costs associated with removing the items from the Embassy location.
*Please do not schedule transportation or towing until the pick-up date and time have been confirmed by the Disposal Team.
