How it works
The United State Embassy Guinea/Conakry is selling Motorized and Non-Motorized properties including used furniture and appliances via a Web Based Electronic Auction. The bidding will start on Saturday, 22 November 2025 at 20:00 P.M and end on Monday 24 November 2025, at 8:00 A.M. This information is available on the information panel of the web application. During this period, you can actively take part and submit your bid for the surplus property.
All winners of lots in the Conakry online auction must pay for the lots won within two days of closing, Wednesday 26 November 2025.
Maximum number of bids on each lot is limited. Increasing your bids is possible only in the local currency (Guinean Francs - GNF). During the auction you should watch the progress of your bids so you can act if somebody outbids you and you want to post a higher bid. Upon offering higher price, the bidder should increment at the minimum of 100.000 GNF, rounding up all variable unit. The offering price should be reasonable and payable upon winning the lot. Winners must pick up their lots in person, either personally or through representatives authorized in writing by the registered winners. Please pay close attention to when the auction is going to end. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction is the winner of the lot. At the end of the auction, if you are a winner, you will receive an email with a link back to the website where you can review the lots you have won, after successful login.
All lot winners must come to US Embassy Conakry to collect receipts of lots won to facilitate payment deposit individually by lot. Payment should be made at Ecobank Conakry after the close of auction following the instructions in the "How to Pay" section. All lots must be paid for prior to being picked up. All items are sold “as is”. The Winner will be responsible for payment of any GUINEA CUSTOMS FEES after the payment for the auction items before they are removed from the property holding area. Winners must pick up their lots in person, either by the winners themselves or through representatives authorized by the registered winners. The final winners should bring the bank receipt for the lot won to the U.S. Embassy Conakry within two days of closing the auction, Wednesday 26th November 2025. The U.S. Embassy will schedule the lot pick-up date only after the final winners have paid all payment duties including the customs payment. Upon collection, the final winners should submit the original proof of payment to the U.S. Embassy Conakry including but not limited to the bank receipt for the won lot and the corresponding customs payment receipt.
Email for winners will consist of link to the auction application where you can review your items, after successful login. Winners who fail to make prompt payment according to the instructions below will be blocked from participation in future auctions. If the winner with the highest bid fails to pay the US Embassy Conakry reserves the right to award the lot to the next highest bidder or reserve the lot for inclusion in the next auction. Lots not picked will be forfeited. This section of online auction will close on Monday 24 November 2025, at 8:00 A.M.
NB: NOTE THAT SALES WILL NOT BE MADE TO THOSE WHO RESIDES OUTSIDE THE REPUBLIC OF GUINEA.
Payment
Payment for your items is possible only by bank money transfer to the Embassy bank account: Please note the following:
1. Payment for online items won from a US Embassy Conakry online auction should be made to the US Embassy Conakry’s sweep account with Ecobank, Conakry.
2. Please make payment individually by lot :
*No lump sum deposit for multiple won lots are allowed. Each lot should be paid individually, and the winner should bring the individual bank receipt for each won lot.

3. Every bank receipt must clearly show following information.
- The amount deposited which should exactly match the winning bid price(s).
- The depositor’s name which matches the winning lot bidder.
- The won lot number. Only one lot number per bank receipt.

4. All payments must be made within two working days after the bid is closed.
5. All winning bidders must bring their deposit slips to the US Embassy Conakry compound, exchange them for a bill of sale, and the lot(s) won.
6. If one wins multiple lots, you must make separate payment for lot won identified as described above. Items can be retrieved only when successful payment including the customs payment has been verified. Receipt of payment for won lot is considered complete when the payment showed on the US Embassy Conakry Sweep account at Ecobank. This is apart from the customs payment process.
7. Taxes/customs are the sole responsibility of the winner(s). The Winner will be responsible for payment of any customs fees after the payment for the auction items before they are removed from the property holding area.
8. All winners who have met the above requirements should present proof of payment and photo ID to pick up their lots at the designated time.
9. Winners who fail to pay for the lots they won will forfeit the items and will be blocked from participation in future auctions.
To recover
To collect your items, you must present the original bank transfer receipt with all required details included in the payment paragraph above.
Any paid items that are not picked up within the scheduled period will be discarded and there will be no opportunity to reclaim them.
Please note that the Embassy does not provide labor for picking up the lots. Each winner will be required to provide their own labor for picking up their prizes. You will have full responsibility for handling procedures and removal of won items from Embassy property in a timely manner following all payments. If items are not removed in a timely manner, they may be considered abandoned and disposed of.
