How it works

The U.S. Consulate General Jeddah is selling surplus movable property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. The auction will be activated for a period clearly stating the start and end date, usually lasting about two weeks, preceded by a preview period during which the sale is in “Preparing” status. Details about the dates of the auction are available on the information panel of the web application. Once the auction goes “Live”, you can actively take part and submit your bid for the surplus property. 

Items being auctioned are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS”.  The Consulate tries to provide complete information on goods being sold, however,  there are no warranties or guarantees – implied or expressed – concerning the condition of the auctioned property.

To place a bid, bidders must first register.  Only residents of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia are eligible to bid in the auction,  during the auction you should monitor your bids so you can react to price developments. 

Successful bidders will be notified via email immediately following the conclusion of an auction. Email for winners will consist link to the auction application where you can review your items, after successful login.

US Consulate General Jeddah reserves the right to remove any items from the sale at any point of time.

NOTE: Bidders found with wrong contact information will be blocked.

How to pay for your items

The winning bidders will be notified about the lots he/she won. All items are sold in “As is condition” with no warranty and no refunds given.

Payment via Bank transfer should be made within 24 hours of receiving the Winning Bid notification (Please mention in remarks while making payment the Lot numbers for which the payment is done)

Send us the Payment Copy for reconciliation and ID’s of person/s who will come and pickup the lots and Vehicle registration Card for Access on Email: jeddahauctioninfo@state.gov

Once Payment is confirmed and access is approved we will inform about the pickup date/time and location.

Items should be picked up on confirmed date/time else will be considered as abandoned.

Winning bidders who fail to make prompt payment according to the instructions will be blocked from participation in future auctions.  If the winner with the highest bid fails to pay within 24 hours of closing the auction, the U.S. Consulate Jeddah reserves the right to award the lot to the next highest bidder or reserve the lot for inclusion in the next auction.

How to pick-up your items

The winning bidder must pick up the items after closure of the auction and after fully paid for all his/her lots. The exact location will be sent to winning bidders.  If not picked up the lots within 48 hours of making the payment, lots will be consider as abandoned and will be dispose off.  


In order to pick up the items, the winning bidders must send a copy of valid ID copy of the driver and complete vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate number) at least 24 hours before the pick-up date and time.

The person picking up the items must present the original receipt of bank money transfer with all required details included in the payment paragraph above or a printed version of the Internet banking money transfer.

After successful confirmation of payment for your items, our staff will move your items to the front of the Consulate gate. From that time on, you are the owner of your merchandise and full responsibility for subsequent handling procedures.
