How it works

The U.S. Consulate General Karachi is selling surplus/excess property via an Internet-based electronic auction.  Each auction will be activated for a period that clearly states the start and end dates. This information is available on the information panel of the web application: https://online-auction.state.gov/en-US. During this period, you can participate actively, and submit your bid(s) for the lots of surplus/excess property that are of interest to you.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL and considered to be closed when the buyer signs the receipt at the time of pick up. All items lots will be sold on “As is & where is” basis and the U.S. Consulate does not provide any warranties on working order or condition of the items sold in auction.

Please note that bids & increment are in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) only. To stay competitive, monitor the auction closely and adjust your bids as needed. Successful bidders will be notified via email & or registered phone numbers following the conclusion of auction. 

At the end of the auction, please email KarachiAuctions@state.gov with a screenshot of lots which you won along with your registered cell phone number. 

The US Consulate Karachi reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part. If the purchaser fails to make full payment of the bid within said time, then the entire bid form will be cancelled. There will be no options to entertain.

How to pay for your items

  • Make the 100% cash payment in Pakistani Rupees along with a clear copy of CNIC (both sides) to the cashier at the premises 234 E.I. Lines, Beville Street, Fatima Jinnah Road, In front of Frere Hall library, Karachi.
  • The US Consulate Karachi reserves the right to reject any old, damaged, or worn currency notes.
  • In case you have bid and won more than one LOT you can pay the total amount due of all LOTS in one payment, but all lot items must be identified.
  • Lots can only be retrieved when successful payment has been received.
  • Receipt of payment is considered complete when a Bill of Sale is provided by the cashier.

How to pick-up your items

Successful bidder(s) must personally come to the 234 E.I. Lines, Beville Street, Fatima Jinnah Road, in front of Frere Hall library, Karachi to pick up the items.

Winning lots can be picked up starting from 09:00 AM Saturday October 19, 2024, until 05:00 PM Sunday October 20, 2024.

Bid winner(s) are responsible to arrange loading vehicle, loading, and off-loading equipment, and all labor required to move load & off-load their winning lots from government premises to their personal location. 

The successful bidder(s) must pick up their winning lots after closure of the auction and paying full payment of all their lots. The sale will be voided if items are not picked up within above-stated days and time.

You must present the original cashier payment receipt as well as a printout of the winner's page listing your unique identification number, and lots won. These documents are required to enter and exit the official premises as the security guards will not let you leave without presentation of official documents denoting that you are the new owner of USG property.  

Third parties (i.e., loading trucks, vehicles, labor, export company, etc.) will not be allowed to move items on your behalf.

To pick up the items, the successful bidders must bring following documents:

  • Bid winner’s valid original CNIC. (CNIC should not be expired)
  • The driver of loading vehicles must hold his/her valid original CNIC. (CNIC should not be expired)
  • All Loaders, laborers must carry their valid original CNIC. (CNIC should not be expired)

You will have the full responsibilities for removing lots from the Consulate property at the scheduled time. If items are not removed in a timely manner, they will be considered abandoned and disposed-off.

The sale is considered final when the items are retrieved, and the receipt is signed by the buyer. US Consulate Karachi will not provide any assistance/labor to load or off-load your vehicle.
