How it works

The U.S. Embassy Sarajevo is selling surplus movable property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. Each auction will be activated for a period of time clearly stating the start and end date. This information is available on the information panel of the web application. Usually it will be active from Monday to Monday lasting 7 days, or for a specific autcion at another time, if so stated. During this period you can actively take part and submit your bid for the surplus property. 

In order to participate in auction, you should register yourself with your real full name and surname, BiH Telephone number, and email address. 

Maximum number of bids on one item is stated at each item. Increasing your bids is possible only in the local currency name BAM. During the auction you should monitor your bids so you can react on all bids price development. Note that the final winning bid will be increased for custom and tax fees stated by each LOT.

Email for winners will consist link to the auction application where you can review your items, after successful login. 


IMPORTANT INFO:

-           All items sold on auction are sold as is and the condition is unknown.

-           During the registration process, users are required to provide correct information,  
            including first and last name, email address and valid BiH telephone number. If the user does not enter the correct
            information their account will be suspended, and they will be prevented from further  
            participation.

-           Foreign citizens cannot participate in the auction.

-           The U.S. Government holds its right to reject any or all bids, as well as to all eventual
            changes if such occur under non planned reasons.

How to pay for your items

Payment 

All payments will be due on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 0830 - 1600and during the takeover of property. Precise information about payment and property pick up will be provided to buyers in separate emails. Prospective bidders are obliged to settle all customs and VAT fees. 

In order to pay your property, you must present valid BH ID card, whereupon successful bidder will be provided with Embassy invoice and customs  invoice. With paid invoices, successful bidder can proceed to pick up of property.  

How to pick-up your items

Pickup

In order to retrieve your property, you must present the original receipts from Embassy and customs expediter.

Pick up location: Roberta C. Frasurea 1, Sarajevo, BiH (US Embassy building, side service entrance).

Pick up time: Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 0830 - 1600.

Any paid items that are not picked up during the scheduled time frame will be disposed of, and there will be no possibility for their retrieval. In special cases or circumstances, you may arrange a different pick-up date and time by contacting the Embassy representatives.

After successful confirmation of payment for your property, our staff will move your property out to the front of the storage building. From that time on, you are the owner of your property. You will have the full responsibility for subsequent handling procedures and removal from Embassy property in a timely manner. If items are not removed in a timely manner they may be considered abandoned and disposed of.
