How it works:

The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat is selling surplus/excess property via an internet-based electronic auction.  Each auction will be activated for a clearly stated period of time.  The start and end dates are listed on the information panel of the web application.  During this period, bidders can submit bids for individual lots of surplus/excess property.

Bids must be in US Dollars (USD).  During the auction period, bidders can monitor and update their bids.  Successful bidders will be notified via email following the conclusion of the auction.  A representative from the U.S. Embassy will also contact successful bidders for final confirmation and to provide payment details.  ALL SALES ARE FINAL and considered to be closed when the buyer makes the full payment.

IMPORTANT NOTICE regarding Property and Vehicles.

The U.S. Embassy sells surplus vehicles “as is” with no warranties implied concerning operating conditions.  Bidders are required to pay all local fees and taxes.  Payment of any/all customs duties is the responsibility of the winning bidder.  Bidders are strongly encouraged to verify the registration process for vehicles purchased from a diplomatic mission.  The buyer bears all costs and responsibilities for these procedures.  The U.S. Embassy will not provide any assistance with the registration of auctioned vehicles.  No assistance will be given for exporting the car to another country.   Each bidder is responsible for all taxes and customs duties after the vehicle is deregistered from the U.S. Embassy.
