How it works The U.S. Embassies are selling surplus movable property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. Each auction will be activated for a period of time clearly stating the start and end date. This information is available on the information panel of the web application. Usually it will be active from Monday to Friday lasting two weeks. During this period, you can actively take part and submit your bid for the surplus property. International Bidders Notice: All items are sold as-is with no warranties expressed or implied. International buyers are solely responsible for all costs associated with payment, pickup, customs clearance, and shipping arrangements. The seller will not provide packing, shipping, or export documentation services. Please ensure you understand all import regulations and expenses before bidding. The maximum number of bids on one item is stated for each item. Increasing your bids is possible only in the local currency name. During the auction, you should monitor your bids so you can react to all bid's price development. Email for winners will consist of a link to the auction application where you can review your items, after successful login. Pay close attention to when the auction ends. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction is the winner of the ticket. If you are a winner, you will receive an email at the end of the auction with a link to the website where you can view the won lots after you have succesfully logged in. Please note that if you are a successful winner you have to make your payment in three (3) business days for your bid(s) The winning customer is responsible for inquiring and paying any fees required by the government for diplomatic vehicles sold. General terms and conditions of sale 1.By participating in the auction, you acknowledge that you have agreed to purchase items on an "as is - nonreturnable basis" without any REFUNDS AND WARRANTY. 2. Bidders are responsible for any fees, such as taxes or customs duties, that may be charged by the Surinamese government before the property can be removed. 3. Winners who refuse to pay for items within three (3) business days will not be eligible to participate in future auctions. 4. The receipt will be issued after payment has been confirmed by the embassy cashier. 5. Please note that all arrangements and costs necessary to effectuate the removal of the property are the responsibility of the successful bidders. 6. All sales are final and no returns are allowed. 7. The U.S. Embassy reserves the right to reject any offer deemed disproportionate to the value of the property. 8. In the event of a dispute regarding the amount of the bid, item or item number, the American Embassy reserves the right to relist the property. 9. If there is any inconsistency regarding these rules, the English version shall prevail. 10. For Vehicles: Release of the vehicle to the winning bidders upon payment of the bid, the bidder will process/pay the applicable import duties and taxes and presentation Please note: Failure to comply with rules will result in inactivation of your account.
Payment Payment for your items is possible only by bank money transfer to the Embassy bank account: In the item "Message for recipient" fill in word "Auction" and lot numbers you're paying for. In the item "Variable symbol" fill in your Unique Identification Number (UID) which can be found at "Winners info" auction website section. In the item "Amount" fill in the total amount in the local currency of your bid(s). In the case you have bid and won more than one item you can pay the total amount due of all items in one payment but all lot items must be identified as described in item 1 above. Items can be retrieved only when successful payment has been received. Receipt of payment is considered complete when money reaches the U.S. Embassy bank account.
Once you are chosen as a winner, you must pay in full US$ or SRD at the U.S. Embassy cashier on Tuesday August 26, 2025 or , Thursday August 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. or by depositing into the U.S. Embassy SRD SWEEP account no 20.983.59.62 at Hakrinbank. For US$ you can pay cash by Cashier window on mentioned days above by payment in SRD$ against U.S. Embassy rate of exchange.
For payments from abroad, only the pay.gov option can be used
For credit card payments, it is possible to use a U.S. credit card on a bank in the USA through the 'pay.gov' option for out-of-country purchases only. The Embassy will provide additional information for this option.
Please include the auction number and lot number you are paying for in the comment section of the ETF transaction. You can then send us a copy of the bank transaction for verification
at ParamariboFMOInvoice@state.gov.
In case or non-payment within three working days to the account below, you bid will automatically expire and will then be included to the highest second bidder. The second highest bidder will then be notified by email and will proceed with the sale. The highest bidder has no rights if he does not pay within tree (3) days after the closing date and time stated for the auction.
If you have bid and won on more than one item, you may pay the total amount due for all items in one payment, but all lot items must be identified as described in item 1 above.

Note: It could take more than one day to transfer money from your bank to the U.S. Embassy bank. It will not be possible to pick up your items if your payment is not indicated on the U.S. Embassy bank account.
Pickup If you are a winner of a lot, you will be contacted by mail or phone for the pick up of your lots after you have made the payment . In order to retrieve your items, you must present the original receipt of bank money transfer with all required details included in the payment paragraph above or a printed version of the Internet banking money transfer. Any paid items that are not picked up during the scheduled time frame will be disposed of, and there will be no possibility for their retrieval. In special cases or circumstances, you may arrange a different pick-up date and time by contacting the auction manager. After successful confirmation of payment for your items, our staff will move your items out to the front of the storage building. Please note that the Embassy does not provide labor for the pickup of lots. Each winner will have to organize their own workforce for the pickup of their lots. However, the Embassy may assist the winner in lifting extremely heavy items that would require the use of the forklift. From that time on, you are the owner of your merchandise. You will have the full responsibility for subsequent handling procedures and removal from Embassy property in a timely manner. If items are not removed in a timely manner, they may be considered abandoned and disposed of.
