How it works

The U.S. Embassy Kingston is soliciting a public sale of excess properties (e.g. vehicles, furniture, appliances, computers) via a Web Based Electronic Auction.  Each auction will usually be activated for one week.  The exact start and end dates/times will be clearly stated on the information panel of the auction website.  The maximum number of bids accepted will also be stated for each lot.  There is no registration fee or deposit required in order to participate in this auction.  You will be able to update and/or modify your bid anytime during the bidding period.  You must be at least 18-years old in order to participate in this auction.  You are also allowed to submit your bid on multiple lots.  If you are interested in submitting your competitive bid for any lot in the auction website, you must carefully review the posted photos and its descriptions of applicable lot(s) which may be of your interest.  Your best offer must be submitted in Jamaican dollars.

All sales are final and sold on an as-is and where-is condition. There is no warranty on the purchased items.  None of the items purchased can be refunded or returned to the U.S. Embassy.  The winner is responsible for providing transportation and all taxes or duty charges that are due to the Government of Jamaica when applicable.

The highest bidder will be notified via email of the winning lot and s/he will be required to comply with the payment and pickup instructions in the auction website.

How to pay for your items

You can use your Credit/Debit card or U.S. Bank Account to pay for all items you won.  The actual payment needs to be made through the secured "Pay.gov" at https://www.pay.gov.  The detailed step-by-step guide on how to access and pay for your items via Pay.gov will be sent to winner by email.

If you have won more than one item, you may pay the cumulative total amount due for all items won in one payment but all lot numbers must be referenced in the “Payment Description” block of the Payment Form in Pay.gov.

All payments are to be made in US dollars, 3 days after successful bid.

How to pick-up your items

Winner will be notified by email for the pickup location.

In order to pick up your winning items, you must be able to present your identification card. Arranging transportation and its associated expenses will be the winner’s responsibility.  The winner is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the purchased items are picked up in a timely manner.
