How it works

The U.S. Embassy Amman is offering surplus movable property (SMP) for sale via online auction. Auctions typically remain open for two weeks. The specific closing date and time for each lot are displayed at the top of the respective auction page. 

All bids are in Jordanian dinar (JOD).
Terms & Conditions of Sale 

1. Condition of Sale 

  • "As-Is, Where-Is": All items are sold in their current condition, with all faults and without any warranties, express or implied. 

  • Finality: All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or credits will be issued under any circumstances. 

2. Financial & Removal Responsibilities 

The winning bidder is solely responsible for all costs associated with the purchase, including: 

  • Taxes & Duties: Customs clearance, import/export fees, and all applicable local taxes. 

  • Logistics: All costs for pickup, loading, transport, and shipping. 

  • Abandonment Policy: Items must be removed from Embassy premises within five (5) business days of payment confirmation. Failure to remove property within this timeframe will result in the item being deemed abandoned. The Embassy reserves the right to dispose of or relist abandoned items without refunding the original payment. 

3. Payment & Deadlines 

  • Timeline: Winners will receive an email notification and must complete payment within three (3) business days. 

  • Confirmation: Receipts are issued only after the Embassy cashier confirms receipt of funds. 

  • Default: Failure to pay within the deadline results in forfeiture of the bid. The Embassy may then contact the next highest bidder or relist the item at its sole discretion. 

4. Embassy Rights & Disputes 

  • Right of Refusal: The Embassy reserves the right to reject any bid deemed disproportionate to the property's value. 

  • Dispute Resolution: In the event of errors in bid amounts, descriptions, or lot numbering, the Embassy reserves the right to cancel the sale or relist the property. 

  • Governing Language: If these terms are translated, the English version shall be the legally binding authority. 

How to pay for your items

Payment is accepted exclusively via CLIQ. Pleasure ensure the information below is submitted with your transfers:

  • "Message for recipient" field: include the word "Auction - lot ####". Replace #### with the lot number you won. If paying for more than one items, include all the lots number.
  • "Variable symbol" field: fill in your Unique Identification Number (UID) which can be found at "Your Winning Auctions" section of the auction site.
  • "Amount" field: fill in the total amount in JOD of your bid(s).

How to pick-up your items

  • Scheduling: Upon payment confirmation, you will receive an email with payment receipt and to schedule a pick-up appointment.
  • Deadline & Abandonment: All items must be removed within five (5) business days of the scheduled appointment. Items not collected within this window will be considered abandoned and disposed of without refund.
  • Verification: To retrieve items, the winning bidder must present the official confirmation email from U.S. Embassy Amman and a valid photo ID.
  • Transfer of Ownership: Ownership and risk of loss transfer to the buyer immediately upon signing the property receipt at the pick-up location.
