Online-Auction for US Embassy
- Go to the online auction site: https://online-auction.state.gov/
- Click on Seoul KR to access the US Embassy Seoul auction page.
- Click on Register button to register as a user.
- Log in once you get confirmation email from the website.
- To place bid(s), click on Subscribe to place bids button, and read, understand, and agree to the User Agreement and Privacy Notice.
- Please make sure that you enter a valid local phone number. If your phone number is not valid, we will invalidate your bidding.
While Bidding:
- You may place as many bids as you wish. The minimum bid increase is KRW 1,000 Won (KWR 10,000 only for vehicles) and the maximum bid increase is KRW 1,000,000 Won.
- Bidding starts at 12:00 noon on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, Korea Standard Time.
- Bidding closes at 12:00 noon on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, Korea Standard Time.
- Property for auction can be viewed on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 (9:00-16:00) at US Embassy Annex located 108-8 Namyoung-dong, Yongsan-ku, Seoul.
After Bidding:
- Once the auction closes, the winners will be notified by the system email and confirmed through follow up communication from the Embassy staff by phone.
- The successful bidder must make the full payment via EFT no later than 17:00 on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, or in person at the U.S. Embassy cashier window on Feb. 13 during 09:30 - 12:00 & 13:30 - 15:00.
- To pay at Embassy cashier window, you must notify us of your visiting date and time at least 24 hours before so that the Embassy access can be arranged in advance. (Auction Office: 397-4767 / Business hour 8:30 – 17:00)
- Cancellation of a winning bid will be subject to the cancellation fee equal to 10 percent of the bid amount.
- Modification to the car may be needed for non-SOFA registration for operation within Korea and any changes for registration is the sole legal and financial responsibility of the buyer.
- The vehicles must be deregistered before they may be picked up. The US Embassy will provide the buyer with the deregistration certificate and import certificate only. The buyers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, registration, or other fees and requirements as applicable.
- The successful bidder must pick up the winning items on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 (9:00-16:00) except vehicles.
- Vehicle pickup schedules will be arranged later by phone or email, once the deregistration process (approximately 4-8 weeks) is completed.

Terms and Conditions of Sale
By submitting a bid, the user agrees to the following terms and conditions:
- The BUYER accepts all items on a “where is” and “as is” basis with no claims against the SELLER as to the condition of the items. The descriptions of the vehicles is for informational purposes only, and does not constitute any kind of warranty as to quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or merchantability of the vehicles. The BUYER further acknowledges that the vehicles may not pass structural/safety/emissions inspections and may not be registerable.
- The BUYER acknowledges that he or she is personally responsible for all import duties, taxes, registration, or other fees, if applicable.
- The SELLER reserves the right to reject any or all bids without cause and to modify or withdraw any vehicle from the sale without further notice.
- Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder. In the event of multiple bidders offering the same bid, the first bid received will be deemed the winner. Bids must be submitted by 1200 (noon) on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, Korea Standard Time. Payment is not required to submit a bid. Winning bidders will be notified via email and/or phone.
- The successful bidders must submit full payment via EFT account (Bank Name: Citibank, Account Holder: U.S. Embassy, Account Number: 0-002890-089) no later than 17:00 on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 or in person at the US Embassy Chancery Cashier on Feb. 13 during 09:30 - 12:00 & 13:30 - 15:00 located at 188, Sejong-daero Chongro-ku Seoul Korea. Please notify us in advance if you will pay at the US Embassy Chancery Cashier for access request at least 24 hours before.
- The cancellation of a winning bid will be subject to the penalty of 10 percent of the bid amount. Once the full payment is made, cancellation will not be accepted. In case of forfeit, the second highest bidder in order received will be declared the winner.
- The BUYER warrants that he/she: a) is not an employee of the U.S. Government prohibited by the rules and regulations from purchasing property sold hereunder; b) is not an agent or immediate member of the household of such employee; AND c) does not have access to information concerning the property to be sold that is not generally available to the public.
- Applicable to U.S. citizens employed by the U.S. Government: I certify that the property is for my personal use, and I will not sell the property during my tour at post except to another U.S. citizen employed by the U.S. Government who will make a similar written certification. If at the end of my tour, I sell such property to persons not having duty-free privileges, I will certify in writing to the Property Disposal Officer that local taxes and other obligations have been satisfied. Failure to comply with this requirement could result in disciplinary action.
