How it works

The U.S. Consulate Kolkata is selling surplus movable property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. Each auction will have a clear start and end date. This information is available on the information panel of the web application https://online-auction.state.gov/en-US and all lots can be physically viewed during auction period at M/s Suman’s Exchange, 8/1, Loudon Street, Kolkata-700 017 from 10.00 am to 6.00 p.m. During the auction period, you can submit your bid for the goods to be auctioned. During the auction, you should monitor your bids so you can react to price developments. Successful bidders will be notified via email/phone by M/s Suman’s Exchange on completion of the bidding process. 

ALL SALES ARE FINAL and are considered closed when the buyer signs the receipt at the time of pick-up. The U.S. Consulate Kolkata does not provide any warranties on goods sold though auction. If there’s any label on any item mentioning about the warranty etc. that shall be inapplicable and be ignored. Successful bidders  shall be responsible for paying the bid price along with the applicable GST for the bids before picking up the lot from the premises of M/s Suman’s Exchange.

The property described hereunder will be sold “AS IS WHERE IS” basis with no guarantee for use or conditions of the property being offered through auction. Items once sold will not be taken back and the money received shall be non-refundable. The purchaser must make all arrangements and perform all work necessary to effect removal of property at his/her own expense. If the purchaser fails to make full payment of the bid/bids within said time, the seller reserves the right to reject any or all bids and combination thereof and next highest bidder will then be contacted.


How to pay for your items

Successful bidders need to pay the bid amount along with GST to M/s Suman Exchange by cash or bank draft/NEFT/RTGS/ IMPS as suitable to M/s Suman’s Exchange. If the bidder has won more than one lot, they can combine the amounts and pay. The lots can be retrieved only after successful payment.

How to pick-up your items

Each auction will display the pickup address. To retrieve items, the successful bidders will need to make payment to M/s Suman’s Exchange or submit proof of payments. Pick-up shall be as per scheduled date and time to be informed by Suman’s Exchange. The bidders have the full responsibilities for removing lots from M/s Suman’s Exchange as per the scheduled date and time. If items are not removed in a timely manner, those will be offered to the next highest bidder.
