The U.S. Consulate, Dhahran is selling surplus property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. Each auction will be activated for a period of time clearly stating the start and end date. This information is available on the information panel of the web application. During this period, you can actively take part and submit your bid for the surplus property.
Maximum number of bids for one item is specifically stated for each item. Increasing your bid(s) is possible only in the stated local currency. During the auction you should monitor your bid(s) so you can counterbid as price developments occur.
Only residents within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are eligible to bid in the auction. Items will not be shipped outside of KSA. Once payment is done, no refunds will be made. Your account information will need to include a working Saudi / local valid telephone number and an active valid email address.
An email will be sent to all winners with a link to the auction application where you can review your items won.
The successful bidders of the auction lots can pay at the time of receiving the notification of winning items by depositing funds in SAR (Saudi Arabian Riyals) to the following account:

When making the payment by bank transfer, the person picking up the items must present the original receipt from the money transfer with all required details or a printed version of the Internet banking money transfer, please mention the lot number for which the payment is being made.
Please refer to the section below (“How to pick up your items”) for instructions on how to pick up your items. The official U.S. Embassy receipt for payment will be sent to the successful bidder’s email address after the items have been picked up. All items are sold in “As is condition” with no warranty.
Please make bank transfer at the earliest after the auction has ended. This will allow time for the Embassy to confirm receipt of payments. Pick-up is NOT allowed until payment is confirmed. Once payment is made, no refunds will be issued.
The winning bidder, or another person with written authorization, must pick up the items after closure of the auction from a location near the consulate. An exact location will be sent to winning bidders only. The exact date and time will be scheduled once payment is confirmed by the consulate. The sale will be voided if items are not picked up within 96 hours of the winning notification. In special cases or circumstances, you may arrange a different pick-up date and time by contacting the auction manager.
In order to pick up their items, the winning bidders must send a copy of his/her Saudi ID/iqama, a copy of the Saudi ID/iqama of any person driving or assisting with the pick-up, and complete vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate number) at least 48 hours prior to the agreed upon pick-up date and time.
The person picking up the items must present the original bank transfer receipt with all required details included.
From the time items are picked-up, you are the owner of your merchandise. You have the full responsibility for subsequent handling procedures and removal from specified location in a timely manner. If items are not removed in a timely manner, may be considered abandoned and disposed of.
