U.S. Embassy Astana is selling surplus movable property via a Web Based Electronic auction (https://online-auction.state.gov/).  This website hosts auctions at U.S. Embassies all over the world, so bidders should take care to only bid on auctions they, or their appointed representative, can physically access.  Users who want to access the U.S. Embassy in Astana’s auction must click on Astana every time they visit the site. To participate in the online auction bidders must register with their valid email address and mobile phone number.

The auction will be active from Monday August 11, 2025, to Friday August 15, 2025, lasting one week. During this period, you can actively take part and submit your bid. During the auction, you should monitor your bids so you can react to all price developments.

How to pick-up your items

The pick-up date and time will be confirmed by email. There is a set schedule for the embassy compound. Kindly arrive on time. Although we appreciate that some bidders arrive early, we urge everyone to arrive at the precise time that will be sent through email because traffic congestion sometimes occur in front of the compound.

Auctioned vehicles can only be collected after full payment and the completion of the de-registration procedures, which typically takes about a month.

Please note that the Embassy does not provide labor for the pickup of lots. Each winner will have to organize their own workforce for the pickup of their lots. However, the Embassy may assist the winner in lifting extremely heavy items that would require the use of the forklift. Vehicles and large storage containers must be picked up by winners. The Embassy will not deliver.

Warning: If it is necessary to use a truck and/or crane to pick up items from the Embassy compound, the winner must agree on the pick-up date with the Embassy staff in advance. In this case, the U.S. Embassy requires all visitors to follow safety precautions, and in the event of any issues, the visitors will be held responsible.

In order to retrieve your items, you must present proof of payment. This includes receipt from cash payment, electronic payment, or bank transfer and valid ID card.

After successful confirmation of payment for your items, our staff will move your items to the service entrance of the Embassy for your pickup (address included in pick up coordination email). From that time on, you are the owner of your merchandise. You will have the full responsibility for subsequent handling procedures and removal from Embassy property in a timely manner. If items are not removed in a timely manner, they may be considered abandoned and disposed of.
